Safe Tanning

I know I've been absent for too long and for that I apologize. But, I'm back! And glad to be! So let's pick up our Makeup Mondays with my current favorite self-tan product!

To be honest, my preference is still the spray tan, but if I can't get myself to the salon, or just don't want to front the money, then this is my go-to product. It's safer than a bed, safer than the sun, and it works wonderfully.

Say hello to TanWise:

I first heard about TanWise from a good review online.  I'm always looking for a good option in this department, and the price was right, so I decided to give it a try. Bronze Beautiful!!!! I love this stuff so much. It's a black tan so you don't end up orange at all. (I use this on my face as well) I prefer to apply it at night after exfoliating really well and rinse off in the morning. Yes, it does get on your clothing but it comes out in the wash. I'm talking even white shirts-right out.

I use the tan mousse and love it, but for those who have drier skin I would recommend the lotion:

And: normally I don't find a product line where I like ALL of the products, but surprisingly, with this one I do.

For a great exfoliation pre-tan, use their exfoliant:

And let's not forget the application process! This has been one of the greatest things I have ever purchased! The Velvo Tan tanning mitt. No more black hands!!!! And it makes the product go on super even. It truly is 'the only way to apply self tan'.

*I also bought this product at Sally's for around $6.00
Cheaper if you have a Beauty Club Card!

Well friends it's, again, great to be back with you. Make sure you share in the comments what your favorite self-tanning product is!

Framing Arches

Oh brows.....brows are crazy important. They frame the face! Brows are like shoes. You can have on an amazing outfit, but if the shoes aren't quite right, it's ruined. Same with brows. You can rock the most amazing eye makeup, but if the brows aren't on point, eek! And I'm not saying my brows are always perfect! We all have those bad brow days. But here is something that helps me out!

Anastasia Dipbrow Pomade

Wow I love this stuff! Doesn't move all day, fills in your brows, and lets you create a great shape. I use this in Taupe. And you only need a teensy bit! Use with a stiff angled brush for easiest application.

Here is a brow tutorial from Kandee Johnson:

Makeup Monday

This blog may have many directions other than fashion :) I LOVE reviews on products. It definitely aids me in purchasing decisions. So, Mondays will have a little makeup review from me! Obviously the products I'll be talking about won't necessarily be the one-size-fits-all product. Makeup is highly dependent on skin texture, tone, type. So what works for me, may not work for you. And that's ok! I just want to share what I know has been great for me. So, today, we'll be starting with the beauty tool that I can not ever live without. And that's my beauty blender.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE my beauty blender! I was so hesitant to buy a makeup sponge because all I had ever learned about sponges was that they harbored nasty bacteria and unsavory little things. So I stuck to my beloved brushes. Ans $20 for a sponge?! Um, no!! However, I just kept hearing way too many things about this little magic pink egg. So, I looked to others for reviews, watched a few YouTube videos, and decided to purchase one. Wow have I been so blind! I take back every little horrible thing I ever said about a sponge. I can not live without this thing. You can use it wet or dry (I prefer wet, your product goes a lot further). I don't use my foundation brushes anymore *gasp*(don't tell them i said that). It is great for creams or liquids, and I even use it to apply my setting powder.

Much to my surprise, it washes so well. Now, I try to be frugal when possible, so in the beginning I would wash it out with my face wash. And, I noticed it took FOREVER to get the thing clean. I finally broke down and bought the beauty blender solid, and what an amazing difference. It washes clean super quickly and now I use the solid to clean the blenders, and all of my makeup brushes!

There's also the micro mini. To be honest, I don't use mine as much as I thought I would, but it does come in handy. The original beauty blender works just as well, you just have to manipulate it properly.

Well, I hope this has been of interest and of help! We'll be seeing you soon!

Skirting Around

I wanted to share a piece that has become a major staple in my wardrobe: A knit pencil skirt. I wear these at least 2-3 a week! They are perfect for extra length under a dress that's just too short, but oh so cute I still have to wear it! They're also great under tunics. They create a slimmer line, rather than having a bulky skirt bunching up. Here are a few of my favorite finds:

Calf-length Pencil Skirt from Old Navy

Pencil Skirt from H&M

Tile Print Pencil Skirt from Forever 21

Happy shopping Maud girls!
